Abstract
This research study develops a comprehensive framework by mapping the interconnection of population growth and cost of living between the timeline of 1965 to 2025. This research study using the CSV of 3514 research documents file downloaded from the Scopus data base and analyzed on VoSViewer to develop the thematic maps and tables from the data. This study reveals that researches have a limited interest in this topic till 1980 and their interest develop rapidly after 2000 and got its peak after COVID 19 to see the post impacts due to inflation etc at national and international level as well. Furthermore the top journal and subject area analysis reveals that population growth and cost of living is related to highly interdisciplinary fields. Country level analysis reveals that it is an important topic for both developed and developing countries however Pakistan has a limited research study on this topic. On the other hand keyword co-occurrence analysis further provide a support to the argument that population growth and cost of living belong to different cluster and share a weak link between them this separation confirms the limited research studies on the direct relationship among population growth and cost of living. By systematic mapping of the research trends and patterns this study suggest the future researchers to conduct a empirical study on this topic and encourage policymakers to make sound policies which are aimed to enhance the standard of living and lower the cost of living by timely mapping the demographically changes.
